Instagram has introduced the 'Take a Break' feature for everyone

The most popular photo-sharing app Instagram has introduced the "Take a Break" feature for all users. This feature allows users to set reminders to take a break from the app after a certain time.

The Tech A Break feature was first tested in countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and has now been rolled out to all other countries.

Users can choose between 10, 20 or 30 minute time intervals to remind them to take a break from their app.

Instagram will now ask you to take a break from the app

A pause feature will appear for users who have scrolled the app for a period of time. Users will be encouraged to set up reminders to take more breaks in the future.

Speaking about the new feature, Public Policy Manager Natasha Jug said,

"The well-being of young people is important to us, and we're focused on making sure that the time spent on Instagram is intentional and that people feel good about it. We aim to continue our work to create a safe and supportive environment on Instagram, so that young people can use it to explore their interests and find communities. "

When users spend a lot of time on the app, a new feature will pop up every time. They will be asked to take a break from Instagram and be advised to set reminders to take further breaks.

To help them reflect and reset, it will show expert-supported tips. Notifications will be shown with suggestions for young users to turn on reminders.

Instagram began testing this feature in November. Adam Moseri, head of the company, said the break-in feature at Tech would help people see other things that could contribute to negative social comparisons
